A child of god much like yourself perhaps.
Well this week I finally got back into the writing grove after starting this new job. God it was pissing me off that I had no time or energy to write or work on other projects. However, now that I am settling in I am able to write around the schedule and make it work, just makes for long days which is fine. On the reading front I finished Absalom, Absalom! , and it was great. Will need a re-read at some point. It was great Faulkner. The section in the university, while also k

Another week in the bag and another Friday.
I’ve managed to get some more writing down on the new book. Now that I’ve kinda adjusted to my new work schedule I’m able to write around it. So it’s slower progress then I’m used too, but hey it’s still words on paper. On the reading from I’m about half way through Absalom, Absalom! And it’s great. It’s peak Faulkner in Faulkner's world. Hopefully I will finish it this weekend hopefully. On the TV front I re-watched Jericho. Man that’s a great show. Ending too soon, but I ca

The universe is a pretty big place. If it's just us, seems like an awful waste of space.
Well this week was the first week at the new job so I did not have a ton of energy to put into book work, lame I know. But I am gonna try and get some done this weekend and now that I have the work schedule kinda aligned, I should be able to start working on book stuff before and after work for a few hours. This week, as the title suggests I read Carl Sagon's Contact. It was amazing and I watched the movie after and of course the book is better. Now with that book back in the

Hey another Friday in the bag
Well this week has been mostly reading. I didn’t work on writing or books this week, just focused on some job stuff. I finished Moby dick and it was great the ending was about as perfect as you can get for that story. I also started Contact by Carl Sagan and it’s awesome so far. On the TV front I started watching the Americans and it’s a great old spy show. Well that’s it for this week. Nice and quick. Be kind and peace and love to each other. here is this weeks cat tax

Getting distracted by a potential whale kill and leaving a man over board to the depths of the seas is peak Moby Dick.
Well the book work has been slow going this past bit as I have been getting organized to start a new job IRL. However, I was able to get about five hundred ish words in this morning and am hoping that once I start this job and get into a good schedule my regular daily book work should continue. As the title shows, still reading Moby Dick. It's still great. I absolutely love where the later half of the book is going. I was not sure what a whale ship would do to con another new

Another week off swallowing capitalism and coping with some writing.
Well another week rounds out and as far as book work goes I’ve made some more progress on book 3 and it’s coming along very nice. I’m still going through moby dick and it’s still great. He if your reading this watch fallout season 2 it’s fucking amazing. Well that’s it for this one. Peace and love and be kind to each other. Here is this weeks cat tax via some new wall furniture for Edward. There is more on the way lol

Hey it's Friday!
Well this week has been busy with IRL job stuff as I landed a job. But I still got a good chunk of writing on book 3 done. I have some pretty rad ideas for that project that are coming along nicely. On the reading front I am still wading through Moby Dick. It is still great and still long. I re watched breaking bad recently and my god that show is a masterclass. That with the better call saul show I am now watching. I mean the guy can write. Well that's it. Stay safe and peac

Whole Atlantics and Pacifics seemed passed as they shot on their way, till at length the whale somewhat slackened his flight.
Well this week has been light on book work as I’m trying to secure some gainful employment so that I can continue to eat and write. As the title shows, still swimming through Moby Dick, still loving every stroke. On the TV front I watched Southland. Man I thought that was a great show, especially being it was network back in the day. It left on some cliffhangers and clearly got cancelled with plans to continue. Any way that’s it for today. Be kind to each other and peace and

''Queequeq,'' said I, ''come along, you shall be my lawyer, executor, and legatee.''
Well this week has been all editing and some IRL job hunting. I got three more chapters edited this week and the pace is becoming quicker the more I do it. Simply because it's the first time I have edited a book lol. The nice part of editing a book that you wrote years ago, is that as you edit you get to realize all the good bits of your work again and give you all new excitement to fix the shitty parts. As the title shows, I am still going through Moby Dick. It is great, it

Now, in allusion to the white, silent stillness of death in this shark, and the mild deadliness of his habits, the French call him Requin.
Howdy, well this week has just been editing on book one and boring background admin shit. I’m hoping to do some writing on book 3 this weekend but we’ll see. I’m still reading moby dick and it’s great. I can absolutely see the influence it had on people like Cormac McCarthy. On the tv front I have been watching the shield. It’s a solid cop show, with some good plots and characters. We’ll see how the other seasons progress, think I’m on season three. Well that’s it folks. Stay

Let me make a clean breast of it here, and frankly admit that I kept but sorry guard.
This week was the holidays again but but I managed to get some editing on my first book done and some work on the new novel. So all in all, a productive week. As the title suggests I am still going through Moby Dick . It's great and very detailed and philosophical in some of its parts. It's great but definitely long. I re watched the stars TV show Black Sails . It is a prequel to Treasure Island . And man it is fucking great. Like I wish they did a treasure island follow up.

Better sleep with a sober cannibal than a drunken Christian.
Well this week was pretty light coming into the holiday's. I have only managed to get some editing on Purpose done, and that's alright. I read Paul Harding's Tinkers and it was good. Definitely will need a re read at some point. I have now, as the title suggests, started Moby Dick and seven chapters in, it's great. I watched all of the new IT Welcome to Derry show, man it was great. And it looks like they have a plan for like three seasons. Well that's it for this week. St

Hey another Friday is here
Well I did no editing or writing this week. Well actually I did some writing but not much. I was busy trying to get some irl employment so I can feed Edward and me. What I did do is read Craig Alansons ‘expeditionary force. Book 18 gateway’. I absolutely love this sci fi series. It’s low key and doesn’t take itself too serious. It’s a fun pop corn sci fi story. It’s great. I watched ‘all her fault’ which is based on Andrea Mara’s book. The show was great and I wish I knew it

Happy friday
This week has been the usual editing the first novel and some work on the third. On the reading front I went through ‘Flow my tears, the police officer said’ by Phillip k dick. This was my first of his novel and won’t be the last. Such good sci fy. I also went through ‘post office’ by Charles bukowski. Definitely a fun and hilarious read if you can get into it. Full of dark and vulgar humour. Well that’s it for this week folks. Short and sweet. Peace and love and be kind to e

Hey look... More editing and more writing
Well as the titles says, this week was just working on the final draft and edit of 'Purpose' and writing what I am now going to call novel number 3. The more I write of it, the more I realize it's a full novel that has a few things to say. On the reading front I finished Peter Clines '14' and it's probably like my 5th read of it and I love it every time. I have now started my first Philip K. Dick novel 'Flow My Tears, the policeman said' and I'm a few chapters in and it's gre

Another week, another couple thousand words done.
This week I’ve been focusing on my third book while getting together a game plan to edit my first. Was a productive week on the new project and got a good amount done. On the reading front I’m at the tail end of Peter Clines ‘14’. It’s one of my favourite books so it’s a treat to read read it. Well I think this will be it, might be the shortest post yet but meh. Peace and love and be kind to each other. Here is the cat tax. It’s winter now so we’re both bundled in blankets.

When that creative well is empty, it's time to start pouring some juice back into it.
About a week ago I talked about how I got the manuscript review of 'Purpose' done. It was a lot to take in, at the same time I was also really deep into the new project. The result, well I questioned everything because I was tirelessly thinking about the feedback on the manuscript. Then I took a step back and went wait, don't let this over shadow everything, take the advice and fix the manuscript and use the advice for future writing. The one thing I was afraid of is that all

Got the Purpose manuscript back from the guild, with feedback!
Well the manuscript review from the writers guild came back sooner than expected. It was an odd manuscript, it was my first one and the first part was written almost four or five years ago, the rest was written two years ago. The feedback was exceptionally detailed. It was a messy manuscript, as I had never done one before and now I have the feedback to edit and re-write the final draft. This will take a hot couple of weeks if not more as it needs a lot of work and I am also

Oh look nanowrimo or what’s left of it is around the corner
Progress on the new project is coming along really well. This will likely be my nano project. Which is like a shame that nano died cause of some bad leadership but the spirit is still in the community. I’m at the take end of the Iliad and it’s great and a challenging read. I really like seeing these stories as there original form rather than what I have seen adapted over the years. Well I think that’s it for this post. A small one but I will have more frequent ones during Nov

Waiting for a manuscript review is nerve racking and exciting.
I got word that Purpose is in the capable hands of a writers guild member for review. I should have it back on or before late November early December. I hope this service provides some good feedback. On the new project front I made some nice progress today and it's coming along really good. Still very challenging because I have never approached something like this but that is what makes this so challenging and fun. On the reading front I started The Iliad. Very good but def
